Online bus ticketing with live seat selection

A passenger booking site and operator portal for the Tadipatri ↔ Bangalore route — schedules, seat maps, tour packages and rent-a-bus enquiries, all configured by the operator.

The problem

Bookings were taken over the phone and tracked on paper seat charts. Passengers could not see availability, double bookings crept in during busy weekends, and every fare or timing change meant reprinting.

What we built

• ▸Passenger site: search by route and date, interactive seat map, instant e-ticket with a PNR lookup page
• ▸Operator portal: routes, fares, buses, seat layouts, recurring schedules and page banners — no developer needed for day-to-day changes
• ▸Tour packages with dated departures and their own seat inventory
• ▸Rent-a-bus (charter) enquiry flow
• ▸Seat locking enforced at the database level so two passengers can never confirm the same seat

Outcome

• ✓Zero double bookings by design — a unique index on (trip, date, seat) settles the race
• ✓Operator reshapes a bus in four number fields instead of a code change
• ✓Deployed in the Mumbai region next to the database; pushes to main go live automatically
